Paris, March 19, 2014 — Orchestra Networks, a leading multidomain Master and Reference Data Management (MDM/RDM) solution provider, today announced that Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders has selected its EBX5 software to support its Master Data coordination function for the whole mouvement.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. With a field presence in around 65 countries, MSF is running over 350 projects, or missions, globally. Ensuring the responsiveness of MSF’s work, three European Supply Centres (ESC) are meeting medical and operational needs by sourcing, supplying and building the kits, equipment, consumables and pharmaceuticals required by the missions.
Ensuring coherence between the medical and logistics protocols in the field, the associated products and the MSF supply chain is the job of MSF’s International Technical Coordination (ITC) function. The ITC publishes a catalog which contains all articles (medical and non-medical), kits and their MSF codification. ITC prepares, creates, publishes and distributes the MSF catalogs. These catalogs are used by field teams when selecting the articles and kits necessary to meet their mission objectives.
MSF selected EBX5 to improve their codification and cataloging process. EBX5 will support the program in two ways. The first is oriented towards the quality of data by harmonizing product selection and validation processes. EBX5 will support the selection, documentation and maintenance of the articles, workflows and associated metadata. The codification work will be performed through distributed workflows that involve collaboration between subject matter experts, supply specialists, medical and logistic directors. The second is operations oriented by communicating in an faster and more efficient manner the information to the MSF mouvement. EBX5 will support the process of publishing this article master data through catalogs and distribution to other MSF IT systems.
“We’re pleased that MSF has selected EBX5 to support both the design and operational aspects of their codification project.” said Christophe Barriolade, CEO of Orchestra Networks. “Our all-in-one MDM software will allow MSF to meet their business needs without wasting precious resources on integrating between separate components for modeling, governance and Master Data Management operations.”
