CASE STUDY: Governing Digital Assets via PRODUCT Master for Financial Services
Netspend is a leading provider of Visa® Prepaid debit cards, Prepaid Debit Mastercard® cards, and commercial prepaid card solutions in the U.S. and serves the estimated 68 million underbanked consumers who do not have a traditional bank account or who rely on alternative financial services related products that are flexible with powerful features designed just for them. Since 1999, NetSpend products have helped over 10 million customers through a nationwide network of 70,000+ distribution locations, 130,000+ reload locations and online/mobile presence. The upshot is that NetSpend must continue offering competitive Prepaid Debit Cards and other Financial Services products via centralized and well governed PRODUCT Master; along with processing millions of transactions (totaling hundreds of millions of dollars in debit volume) and reconcile those transactions on daily basis.
While many organizations start with a single domain, e.g., CUSTOMER/PARTY or PRODUCT/SUPPLIER, ultimately the goal is to have multi domain along with good foundation of the data governance. A common challenge is representing PRODUCT master data in financial services context (primarily around Prepaid Debit Cards and similar products offerings). This session will provide overview of a key use case for implementing “bill of materials” within the financial services domain as a fusion of product management, partner management and more importantly, digital asset management (DAM).
In this session, attendees will learn:
- Understanding the use case for implementing PRODUCT management within the financial services where Reference Data Management capabilities are critical
- Leveraging “dynamic entity rendering” to enable unified process flow for PRODUCT management
- Governing digital assets as part of multi-domain MDM “self-service” ecosystem
