Orchestra Networks Positioned as a Visionary in 2014 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management of Customer Data Solutions

BOSTON, MA, October 31, 2014 — Orchestra Networks, a leading multidomain Master and Reference Data Management (MDM/RDM) solution provider, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant in the “Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management of Customer Data Solutions” report, published October 30, 2014 by Bill O’Kane and Saul Judah. This magic quadrant assesses the market for Master Data Management solutions for customer data, and positions vendors according to their ‘Ability to Execute’ and ‘Completeness of Vision.’ 

Gartner defines Master data management (MDM) as the “technology-enabled discipline in which business and IT work together to ensure the uniformity, accuracy, stewardship, semantic consistency and accountability of the enterprise’s official shared master data assets. Master data is the consistent and uniform set of identifiers and extended attributes that describes the core entities of the enterprise including customers, prospects, citizens, suppliers, sites, hierarchies and chart of accounts.”

MDM of customer data solutions are software products that:

  • Support the global identification, linking and synchronization of customer information across heterogeneous data sources through semantic reconciliation of master data
  • Create and manage a central, persisted system of record or index of record for master data
  • Enable delivery of a single customer view to all stakeholders, in support of various business benefits
  • Support ongoing master data stewardship and governance requirements through workflow- based monitoring and corrective action techniques
