New whitepaper: Special Challenges in B2B Counterparty MDM

Maintaining the consistency and accuracy of an organization’s shared identifiers, attributes, and business entity relationships is a problem found across a wide range of sectors. As a consequence, Orchestra Networks’ master data management platform, EBX5, has been applied by organizations in sectors as diverse as engineering and construction, manufacturing, and financial services. While this is no different from other MDM providers, what sets EBX5 apart from other platforms is its...

Ensuring long run business success for your MDM program

Orchestra Networks is often described as being “business-focused.” While many prospects assume this is just shorthand for the easy-to-use and easy-to-adopt interfaces in our MDM/RDM software, EBX5. However, for us, being business-focused also means aligning our organizational processes to facilitate the success of our customers in the long and short-run. We focus on usability because we understand that easy-to-use software speeds adoption. And business team adoption is an essential...

Collaborative MDM to avoid “tsunamis” work at UTC

Following our previous posts from the 8th annual MDM/DG Summit in New York, we focus today’s post on the United Technologies case study and their comments on distributed workflow and collaborative MDM. During their presentation at the MDM/DG in New York John Nicoll-Senft and Larry Keyser provided background about United Technologies Corporation (or UTC) that explained the rationale for their MDM program.

utc1UTC is a multi-billion dollar multinational corporation with operations, to quote...

Trendspotting at the MDM/DG Summit

The New York MDM/DG Summit brings together data management and data governance professionals for several days of, what an attendee described as, “pure, unadulterated data geekery.”  Beyond the geekery, an annual highlight are the MDM Institute’s ‘Reality-Check’ Survey and Field Reports sessions. The purpose of the research is to understand the drivers of the MDM market and gather experiences from actual MDM users to separate the reality from vendor marketing.

Jean-Yves Falque from Apgar Consulting on the Acolyance MDM Implementation

Orchestra Networks got a chance to catch up with the always busy Jean-Yves Falque at Apgar consulting to discuss our joint project at Acolyance.

We would have enjoyed asking him more questions, but he only had time for eight questions.

1. Before we get started, why don’t you tell us a little bit about Apgar consulting, how are things going with your new company?

Our “baby” is doing well thank you! I would give him a 9 in the Apgar scoring system!
More seriously, after almost 13...

Engaging business users, critical for MDM success

Orchestra Networks supplies technology to enterprise MDM initiatives the world over. Our customers span a wide cross-section of industries and functional areas. While this is a testament to the flexibility of our technologically leading MDM/RDM software, EBX5, we recognize that master data management, like many management issues, is, at its heart, about people. Without commitment from business teams–who author, approve and consume master and reference data–an MDM program has a low...

Twitter, not Tweeter!

I happened to catch this post on the Wall Street Journal’s twitter feed (naturally!) about the soaring shares of Tweeter, a bankrupt US electronics retailer, who’s gotten caught up in the Twitter-ipo-mania

…  TWTRQ shares are soaring on Friday [Oct 4, 2013] for no other reason than its company name  looks and sounds just like Twitter. Tweeter’s ticker symbol is also just one letter off the one Twitter chose:  TWTR. (Source: wsj)

Perhaps this points out that even the best...
