When will the regulation take effect?

May 25, 2018

After that regulator will be able to impose fines: 4% of annual global turnover for breaching GDPR basic principles or €20 Million; or 2% for not having their records in order (article 30), not notifying the supervising authority and data subject about a breach or not conducting impact assessment. Most important now is to show Accountability of your organisation towards GDPR.

Who is regulated?

All companies/organizations processing and holding the personal data of data subjects residing in the European Union, regardless of the company’s location. Organizations can be:
  • Data Controllers:Entity that determines the purposes, conditions and means of the processing of personal data
  • Data Processor: Entity which processes personal data on behalf of the controller
